RQ-3: BSNL modem, no back-up?
Of late the lights in the BSNL modem go off whenever power fails, and in the interim before DG power comes on, phone and broadband do not work. BSNL modem back-up doesn't seem to work when power fails.
Would anyone know why this should happen ?
A mail from a friend and Mantri resident Arvind Rajgopaul says: The UPS unit; a white rectangular box provided with the modem, contains a 7AH (ampere hour) battery, which is supposed to keep the modem going, is a dud one. A lot of complaints including mine has been registered with BSNL (Mr.Chakrabani). A promise has been made to replace it.
