Milk/water delivery cost Rs.20 more

Our milk and bottled water bill for Jan.2012 included a monthly service charge of Rs.80.This meant a hike of Rs.20 from the previous month. Home delivery of milk, water and newspapers at Mantri's is handled by a service provider retained by PropCare.
We stopped taking newspapers from this service provider - MTS - because the morning papers were delivered not before 8 a m. We have since retained a neighbourhood news agent from Padur who delivers papers at Mantri's by 6.30 a m.
Mantri's service provider who supplies milk and water, has raised monthly delivery charges by as much as Rs.50 over the last 10 months. We moved in mid-April, when the delivery was done for Rs.30. The monthly charge was raised to Rs.40 in September, Rs.60 in Jan. It is now Rs.80.
Question: Does PropCare know this. If it does, what do they propose to do about the steep hike in milk/water delivery charge ?

  1. Even for the money that we still paying them they are not supplying regularly. Either water/mik/paper is missing everyday for my D-402 block. when i speak to Mr. linganath about this he says that he will remind the delivery boys but still not working well. i think we will have to sit and discuss this hike in price and also about not supplying on a regular basis. i will take care of this issue with either talking to Mr. linganathan or we could have few other suppliers from nearby to do our needful requirements once the association is formed Mr GVK Uncle.

    1. Thank you, Mr Sunil. You could, meanwhile, contact Mr Sivakumar(who has taken over from Mr Sivaram) at PropCare and apprise him of the issue. Mr Linganathan's MTS has been retained by PropCare as house-keeping service-provider (common-floor cleaning, doorstep garbage collection). I am not sure if milk/newspaper delivery comes under PropCare house-keeping contract. Even if it doesn't, they could talk to Mr Linganathan to scrap the Rs.20 service charge hike(or reduce it)

  2. I have been fighting with this vendor for the last two months. Milk and newspaper is being deliverd only after 8 pm even after so many requests and complaints. The delivery boys are a bit arrogant too. Please share in case if there is a alternate vendor for newspaper and milk.

  3. Thanks GVK Uncle for the alternate newspaper vendor's number. Even we are not very satisfied with the service-almost once/twice in a week they provide a different newspaper(Hindu instead of our regular subscription TOI). Milk supply is okayish. We don't take water from them. Btw they collected the bill from us this evening( this is our very first) and the service charge was 40/- only.

    1. That's worth noting. How come they charge Rs.80 for D Block residents? Or is it calculated on the basis of the bill amount? Wouldn't we want to hear from others,in other Blocks, about the service charges they are charged? Anyway, the issue merits some explaining by PropCare. Are they reading this ?
